Inaugural Prayers

There’s been a lot of fuss over the Inaugural prayers and who is being asked to lead them. Obama has asked an openly homosexual bishop to offer a prayer at an inauguration event next week. My mother always told me that “you can’t please everybody” but Obama sure is trying. Asking the Bishop V. Gene Robinson to pray was to satisfy those opposed to the invitation he extended to Pastor Rick Warren. Oh brother!

Anyway, Robinson said that he will not use the Bible and "will be careful not to be especially Christian in my prayer."

So my question is this – when you are being careful to not be “especially Christian”, to whom are you praying? Is that kind of prayer just kind of thrown out there in hopes of being answered by any old god who happens to be available and listening? He can leave me off his prayer list. . .

Me too!!! I just got home from my Friday morning prayer group. A mixture of political parties, yet one belief in God and prayer. We prayed for our next President and his family and his earthly protectors. May they all be protected by God's light and carried in Christ's arms. Glad you are back blogging! God bless you and yours.

when so called Bishop do pray God wont here the prayers of the heathen unless it is a prayer of repentance. Rick Warren should'nt even go and be on the same platform with these ungodly heathens who have made thier bed in hell. As the church is raptured when Jesus comrs back I will look down and wave bye.bye to most of you and your new leaders.

Mr. Keen,

How should a true Christians think biblically about such an arrogant thought as to think that when Christ comes to rapture the church that any believer would be so prideful as to even want to "wave bye-bye" to those who will be left behind? As if any of us had done one thing to earn God's grace and our salvation.

Sounds to me like you are more bound up in hating the heathen than living to glorify God and represent Christ.

Just a guess, but maybe that's why there are only 15 - 20 people attending your services?

Shame on Spong. God will judge him accordingly. But, as a self-proclaimed believer - shame on you.
